My husband and I were on our way home after taking my Dad out to his Birthday breakfast. We went to the mall for a few things, pulled into a fast food restaurant drive-thru and my phone rang. I was in the drivers seat and pulling up to the window to get our food while answering the phone. It was my granddaughter and she is crying and screaming “Mom is dead!”. My world fell apart. All I can remember is screaming, crying, and saying “it must not be true!”.
I don’t remember how I did it but I made it out of the drive thru and parked in the nearest parking spot. My husband had me move into the passenger seat. While we sat parked in the parking lot the coroner calls me asking me questions about my daughter, it was all such a fog. I remember asking the coroner “is it really true? Is my daughter dead?” She replied “yes”. I started throwing up and handed the phone to my husband.
This is by far one of the best places I have kayaked so far. Yes I am just getting out, and haven’t been to too many places yet, BUT this one truly is a must! There is over 600 acres of lake and 6 miles of shoreline to explore!! The water is so clear and beautiful. The shallower waters expose gorgeous bolders. We also saw huge rainbow trout swimming right under our kayaks, as well as crawdads on the shorelines. Some of the biggest fish we have seen, are in this area. The Mountains in the distance are absolutely beautiful. It is so nice being able to paddle around the lake and listen to the birds chirping away.
Welcome to my blog :).
I am so excited to finally be actively blogging and not just “thinking” about getting started lol! I must admit it has taken me 2 years! YES that is right 2 long years to finally get up the courage and confidence to do this. I have had my domain and name for 6 months and just finally sat down in March and decided this is it!
Blogging is the perfect fit for me! I have been a stay at home Mom for several years while raising three girls. I put my heart and soul in to keeping the girls busy and in the meantime I was attending college to get my degree. At first, I had always wanted to be an RN and even applied to Nursing school. While waiting to see if and when I would get in, my life as a mother became super busy and I decided that it just wasn’t the right time. Now I am soon to be an empty nester and have been contemplating going back to work. My husband suggested I find something to do from home so that we can take off and travel according to his work schedule. That’s when I decided blogging would fit into my life perfectly!
